The Factors Affecting the Application of Business Process Reengineering: A practical Study in Saudi Arabian Airlines

This study focuses on the relationship between the application of Business
Process Reengineering and the factors affecting its application in Saudi
Arabian Airlines specifically, the commitment top management in programs
reengineering, organizational change, and organizational culture.The
sample size in this study was (562) .Data for the study were obtained from a
questionnaire prepared and developed to fit with the objectives of the study.A
random sampling method was used for workers in the sections that have had
their operations reengineered in Saudi Arabia Airlines.Data were analyzed in
SPSS (version 17) using the appropriate descriptive and analytical statistical
techniques.The results have indicated that the questionnaire parameters
were very reliable, valid, and appropriate to evaluate the application of
reengineering and factors affecting the application.Also, results show that the
application of reengineering, and organizational change were at moderate to
positive levels.On the other hand, the application of the organizational culture
and the commitment of senior management were at moderate to negative
levels.It was also found that factors affecting the application of reengineering
are able to influence the application reengineering variable different rates,
and can be arranged as follows: organizational culture, organizational
change, senior management commitment to support reengineering.In adition,
a positive and significant correlation was also found between the application
of reengineering and all the factors affecting the application of reengineering
under study, whereas significant differences were found between many of the
independent variables of the affecting factors under study and the ability
of Saudi Arabian Airlines to achieve top management commitment, work
organizational change, the creation of organizational culture, for the success
of effective application of reengineering.
