The Factors Affecting the Job Burnout among Nursing Staff at Shifa Hospital in Gaza Strip.

This research aims to study the Factors affecting the job burnout
among nursing staff at Shifa hospital in Gaza Strip.The researcher used the
descriptive analytical methodology, and questionnaire as a tool for collecting
the primary data.The study was applied on all nurses at Shifa hospital (520
nurses) in Gaza.
The number of retrieved questionnaires was 383 with 74% response.
The researcher used several statistical methods such as (Alpha Cronbach
– averages- and percentages- T test- Pearson correlation to measure the
relationship between the variables of the study- model of simple and multiple
linear regression to test the effect of independent variables on the dependent
variable.
The results showed the following:
1. The level of job burnout was high for the emotional exhaustion and low
for the (depersonalization and lack of personal achievement) .
2. There is a direct positive correlation between workload and job burnout
of nursing at Shifa hospital in Gaza.
3. There is a negative relationship between the clarity of role and job burnout
of nurses at Shifa hospital in Gaza.
4. There is a negative relationship between physical work environment and
job burnout of nurses at Shifa hospital in Gaza.
5. There is a negative relationship between social support and job burnout
with nurses at Shifa hospital in Gaza.
6. There is a negative relationship between positive reinforcement and job
burnout of nurses at Shifa hospital in Gaza.
7. The variable (positive reinforcement) took first place in its effect on the job
burnout and (the clarity of the role) occupied the second place whereas,
(social support) variable ranked third in its effect on the job burnout.
The study provided several recommendations for officials and employees
at the Ministry of Health.
