Abstract

The purpose of this research is to discover the effects of general

characteristics of managers and companies on innovation in Algerian’s

economic enterprises.Thus, it is an empirical study based on a sample of 122

companies operating in different regions within Algeria.

For achieving the objectives and for testing its hypotheses, the study

relied on the primary and secondary data.In addition, Statistical methods

used were: Descriptive Statistic Measures, Mann- Whitney, Kruskal- Wallis,

Cronbach Alpha.

The research concludes that there is no significant effect of manager

characteristics (age, gender, occupation, experience, education level)

and characteristics of companies (size of company and activity sector) on

innovation.Also, this study demonstrates that there is a significant effect

between property types of the companies on innovation.

Based on the results of this study, some recommendations were suggested

to managers and decision- makers in companies subject of the study.
