The trends of municipal employees towards elected council members in Jenin governorate

This study aimed at identifying the trends of municipal employee
towards elected council members in Jenin governorate، it also aimed to
find out whether their attitudes had changed due to variations in: sex، age،
education، experience، and job title (position) . To achieve this، questionnaire
been designed consisted of (46) paragraphs to measure employees trends، the
research tool has obtained a high degree of sincerity and consistency (0. 88)
، distributed among a sample of (346) employees، which means (49%) of the
presented population.
After data collection and analysis، the study showed that the trends of
municipal staff towards Municipal council members were negative، the failure
of Municipal Council members in rewarding the distinguished employee
was the most negative prominent issue carried by the municipal staff، then
the procedures of Municipal Council members in promoting the staff، also
showed statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.
05) among staff average answers regarding their attitudes towards elected
municipal councils members، according to the variables: sex، and experience
of the employee، while showed no differences to the variables: qualification،
monthly income average، job title for the employee، the study recommended
that the municipal councils should follow clear and fair policy in promotions
for the staff.
