The Types of Changes that Occur among freshmen at First Year University When First Enrolled at Yarmouk University and their Adjustments to the New Environment

This study aimed to investigate the degree of the nature of change that
happens to the secondary students when they enter Yarmouk University in
Jordan and its relation to their adjustment to the teaching styles , academic
requirements and the general enviornment. To achieve this , a questionnaire
was developed by the researcher depending on the previous literature and
studies. A sample of (595) students ( Male and Female) was chosen from the
first year students at Yarmouk University in Jordan. It was found that the
means of the items for the nature of change were within (1.890 - 2.742) with
an average (2.270) and low degree , while they were (1.406 - 3.109) , regarding
the students adjustment to the teaching styles , academic requirements and
the general environment , with an average (2.149) and low degree. The study
also showed that there was a relationship relation between the degree of the
nature of change that happens with the secondary students when they enter
Yarmouk University in Jordan and its relation to their adjustment to the
teaching styles , academic requirements and the general environment.
