“Baramkeh“ and their role in the Public Life during Abbasid Caliphate until their Catastrophe

The research is dealing with “Baramkeh“ and their role in the general
life during Abbasid caliphate. It also sheds light on the role of this Persian
family in the political, administrative and scientific domains, as well as their
relationship with the caliphate until its catastrophe which collapsed their role
in general life. The name of the family came from its grandfather’s job as a
custodian at the temple of Balkh , and who became a Muslim during Hisham
Ben Abdul Malik’s era (105- 125 A. H) . His son Khalid has played a very
important role in the Abbasid state.
Khalid’s son Yahia, and his sons undertook high ranks, and their work
in ministry and other positions lasted for seventeen years (170 – 187 A. H)
. They had a prominent role in the emergence of the administrative class
and authorship. They were, also interested in science through the auspices of
authorship and translation.
