This study is about Sheikh Yousif Abu – Zir, his life role in resisting the
British colonization. It also discusses how he supported men of resistance
financially and morally, and how he supplied them with weapons and offered
them his house to be their meeting place from which they launched their
attacks on their targets. The house was also used as a shelter when danger
was at hand.
The study, in addition, explained how the village of Muweileh (near Jaffa)
was captured by the Zionist gangs, in addition to explaining the role of both
the men of resistance and the Iraqi army in defending the village. Also the
study dealt with the Sheikh’s movement from Muweileh until his settlement in
Bedya, where his life was shaped psychologically and financially before his
death in early 1963.
