This paper has investigated the issue of the rules that affect the distribution
of inheritance in Islamic jurisprudence. It aims at revealing the nature and
philosophy of these rules. Therefore, the nature of inheritance, its legitimacy,
the nature of the rules that govern the distribution of fortune, and the cases of
bequeathing money in Islam were all explained. It was shown that the Islamic
systematic rules of dividing and distributing inheritance are so fair and
objective. The Islamic jurisprudence is also a system that balances between
the needs and expenses of the individual without any negligence according to
specific criteria that should be acknowledged and met.
