Psychological Hardiness and Psychosocial Adjustment among University Students in Gaza Governorate: Al-Azhar University and Al-Aqsa University

The current study aims at identifying the relationship between resilience
and psycho- social adjustment among university students in Gaza Governorate.
It also aims at identifying whether there were differences among students
on both scales of psychological resilience and psycho- social adjustment
according to (sex, level of study, specialization, kind of university) . The
sample of this study consisted of (200) students: male and female students
who studied Al- Azhar University and Al- Aqsa University.
The two researchers used the Resilience scale and Psycho- Social
Adjustment scale which were designed by the two researchers as the two
main tools in this study. The two researchers used the analytical descriptive
method and they also used the appropriate statistical methods in this study.
The research outcomes reveal that resilience among the sample of
students was prevalent at the ratio %72.1, and psycho- social adjustment
at the ratio %73.1. The outcomes of this study showed that there was a
statistically significant relationship between psychological resilience and
psycho- social adjustment among the sample, and it also revealed that
there were no statistically significant differences between male and female
students on the scale of resilience according to (sex, level of study and kind
of university) .
The research outcomes also showed that there were statistically
significant differences between male and female students on the scale of
psycho- social adjustment according to sex. Such differences were in favor
of female students, whereas the research outcome revealed that there were
no statistically significant differences students according to the study level
on the scale of psycho- social adjustment, and it also showed that there
were no statistically significant differences between Al- Aqsa University
students and the students of Al- Azhar University on the scale of psychosocial
adjustment
