The study dealt with the reality of graduate studies at the Faculty of
Economics at the University of Aleppo, due to the great importance of this
college tin influencing the society and the labor market. The study depended
on the results of a questionnaire designed specifically for this purpose and
included all students enrolled in 2010/ 2011. The results showed that the basic
components of the statistics for the studied society showed the characteristics
of this society. The results also showed that the main motives for registration in
these graduate programs are not homogeneous. The results indicate also that
these programs in their current status do not fulfill the scientific aspirations
of the students and do not serve the objectives of scientific research, nor help
develop creative thinking. They also do not prepare students for the labor
market. Finally, a set of proposals and recommendations were offered to deal
with the reality of the graduate studies at the Faculty of Economics at the
University of Aleppo.
