The Employment of the Popular Culture in the Novel “Mazyuneh’s Sons” for the Novelist Gharib Asgalani

This research attempts to reveal the relationship between the novelist,
Gharib Asgalani’s work and heritage and the heritage sources on which he
based his novel,“Mazyuneh’s Sons” through discussing the following themes:
the characters, popular- folk tales, expressions, and traditions.
The research ended up with the following conclusion: There was a close
and sincere relationship between Asgalani and heritage. Asgalani looks to
heritage as an important source of inspiration and it is an indispensable
feature for his work. This relationship is not based on simulation or
reproduction of heritage as it is; it is based on deep interaction with its
elements for the purpose of developing and exploiting its artistic features
in the contemporary novel and delivering its psychological and emotional
dimensions to recipients.
