This research deals with the musician singer Zeryab, and his influence on thesocial and artistry life in Al-andalus. He was considered one of the followers of theAbbasi Caliph Almahdi. He was born in Baghdad and got educated at IshaqAlmosily School of Arts to become one of its prominent students. After his disputewith his teacher and his fear of al-Ma’moon as weuas the stagnation of the singingcraft in Baghdad, he immigrated to Al-andalus, where he got the support of theOmayyad principality till his death. During his life there, he achieved a lot of fameand reputation. He left great influence on the social and artistry life of the people ofAl-andalus, in addition to the modifications he added to the Lute, like the addition ofthe fifth chord.
