Objectives: The study aimed to identify the psychometric properties of the comorbid psychological Traits Inventory (CPTI) for children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs). The study population included mothers of children with (NDDS), residing in occupied Palestine and whose children attend support service centers. The sample comprised 205 mothers, selected purposively, including 30 of those of typically developing children, 62 with autism spectrum disorder, 34 with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, 42 with intellectual developmental disorders, and 37 with specific learning disorder. Mothers evaluated their children's psychological traits using an 89-item scale developed by the researcher that covers 10 domains aligned with (DSM 5-TR) and (ICD 11th) criteria and other relevant literature.
Method: The study followed a descriptive approach.
Results: The study showed the validity, reliability and stability of the proposed scale, and suggested the presence of comorbid and overlapping psychological traits in all categories, emphasizing the importance of developing a scale that traces these traits in (NDDs).
Conclusion: The study underscores the importance of developing a scale capable of tracking these traits within various (NDDs) categories. Implementing the (CPT) I could improve the precision of evaluations and subsequent care strategies.
