The present study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a training
program to improve the level of public education teachers knowledge about
ADHD. The study sample consisted of (80) teachers of public education
registered in Educational Diploma program at King Abdul Aziz University
in Jeddah. The sample was distributed into experimental group consisted
of (40) teachers and the control group consisted of (40) teachers. The
researcher used an achievement test which consisted (30) items distributed
on three dimensions (general knowledge, characteristics and diagnosis, and
Therapeutic interventions) to measure the level of public education teachers
knowledge about ADHD. The researcher prepared a training program to
Improve the level of public education teachers knowledge in ADHD. The
program consists of (8) sessions for two hours each. The results of the study
Indicated effectiveness of the training program to improve public education
teacher’s knowledge about ADHD on the total score and sub - dimensional
Measurements in favor of the experimental group. The results of the study also
revealed that there are no significant differences between the post test and
follow- up for members of the experimental group in the total score and three
dimensions. This indicates that the program has a continuous positive effect
on teachers’ knowledge about ADHD.
